The 2nd exhibition mounted by the Association took place at the Hull History Centre from Saturday 19th September to Friday 9th October. The display was a pictorial history of the school from Boulevard to Sirius and was situated in the front entrance of the building. My thanks go to Paul Ainsworth who assisted in putting the display together. He and Rob Wilson also volunteered their time to greet and talk to those interested in the exhibits. Feedback forms, membership forms and dinner applications were available and those completed were positive. Due to the length of the opening hours the committee have been unable to assess how popular this exhibition was but, according to the staff, many people had stopped to look at the photographs. Unfortunately due to a double booking I was unable to use the display cabinets.
This exhibition was different from the one at Carnegie Heritage Centre in several ways. The personal attention given to visitors proved more difficult. Access to the Association’s website was therefore restricted and there was no memorabilia to look at apart from photographs. However I think it was worthwhile doing as it probably brought the attention of a wider audience to the Association.
